I am pleased to announce that my first “proper” endurance race will be in the Britcar Endurance Trophy Sports and Touring Car Championship at Oulton Park on 5th July. A 90 minute race, with compulsory pitstop, will be the longest race of my career to date and I’ll be sharing the grid with both of my team mates, Guillaume Gruchet in his Porsche 997 GT3 Cup and Paul Moraviec in his 987 Boxster S, as well as the Ferrari 458 of Callum Lockie – the driver who has been my inspiration since I first met him on the grid of the Britcar 24 hour race at Silverstone some years ago.
Paul and Guillaume at the Brands Hatch “into the night race” last season:
This will be the first serious test of my fitness in a race environment – and the longest race my 986 Boxster will ever have done. I hope we can both handle the pressure!
