Video from Race 1 at Snetterton

I have now posted footage of the entire first race of the second round of our series, held on the “300” variant of the Snetterton circuit in Norfolk, England over a very wet weekend in April 2012. Click through to YouTube to watch at higher quality.

Not only was I mugged by most of the guys (and girl) behind me off the start, I was forced wide at Turn 1 (partly off the track) and I then had a massive spin coming out of the Agostini hairpin due to putting the power on too abruptly (over-enthusiasm). This took ages to recover from, leaving me last. But I’m starting to get the hang of catching and overtaking slower cars!

Final result was that I finished 14th, last in class and 22nd out of a field of 24 finishers. Given the conditions and the fact I’d hardly driven on circuit – let alone raced – in rain before, I reckon that was an achievement.
